Our laptop is on its last leg. For months, it’s been freezing up, and generally behaving like a flaky friend. I’m not thrilled about buying another computer, since I do more on my tablet. But for photo editing, long typing projects, burning CDs and accessing iTunes, I need it.

I’ve started some preliminary shopping, but haven’t really loved anything I saw. The reasonably priced small laptops don’t have cd drives and the ones that do are huge and expensive. I guess this is that turning point in technology where cd drives are becoming obsolete.

Like the cassette tape before it, CDs are going the way of the dodo. It’s a little sad, because it frankly makes me feel really old. It’s irritating too, because I have to spend more money than I want to for technology that used to be standard.
