My apologies in advance for this lame post. My home is being inundated by the Trifecta of Suck (patent pending). My son, who has just turned one, is no stranger to the daycare center cold. The one he’s been fighting lately, I had originally thought might be a mild reaction to the vaccines he’d gotten last week. But as my throat began to swell up to a yucky, unswallowable nightmare, I had to accept we were yet again contagious.

The center called at quitting time yesterday, and luckily I was able to get an evening sick appointment for the little guy. Turns out he has a double ear infection, which for anyone who doesn’t know, is basically hell on wheels for a child. He’s not able to take anything other than advil, and it does help somewhat. I had to stay home with him today and because I’m sick to, I’ve spent all free time I get while he’s sleeping curled up in my bed.

I’d love to get myself to a doctor, but as it also turns out, we’re about to be hit by the 11th storm of the season. This one is a nor’easter, by the way, and is being touted by the news as the worst one yet. (Although, I think they say this about every storm, but I digress.) So, I’m stuck in the house with him again tomorrow with much of the same misery, hoping my own potential ear infection resolves on its own because I’ve just blown through the last of my banked vacation and sick time to take care of my little man.
