I received a bread machine for Christmas this year and decided to try a simple recipe to make for my first batch. I love a good multigrain bread and had read online that an easy mix is a 9 grain cereal. I took a basic recipe I found online and modified it based components I had on hand. I didn’t have bread yeast, so I used some dry ale yeast I had from a beer kit.
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup 9 grain cereal
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp dry yeast (Safale dry ale yeast)
I used the basic, multigrain setting on the machine and it came out lovely.
