I swear, I have no idea where the time went. I blinked and here we are, the week of Thanksgiving. Um, what? Just the other day, we were hunkering down for Hurricane Sandy to slam the east coast. Now, it’s turkey time, and I’m left scratching my head.

To be fair, I suppose that as I get older, time seems to fly by more quickly than ever before. Of course, my day to day routine has become pretty much one long blur, so perhaps that’s contributing to the inability to differentiate the weeks and months from each other. Still, I feel like things are moving too quickly.

Before we know it, it will be Christmas, and I really hope that I will have my gifts purchased by then. (I have yet to begin shopping, actually.) But, what I’m looking forward to most of all is the big “I told you so!” for the Doomsday preppers and Mayan Calendar Crazies who are certain the planet will descend into certain doom before Santa is supposed to arrive.

For now, I’m scrambling, but not for the same reasons they are. I’m just trying to make sure I’ve got all the stuff done that needs to be accomplished between now and then. That, and to make sure I’m wearing clean underpants. For today, we have managed at least that much.
