I decided last year that I wanted to learn how to make bread. I found a few recipes online, and used the following to make an easy focaccia bread.

  • 1 1/2 cups Warm Water
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 packet bread yeast

I made a spice blend using fresh rosemary from the garden, a few dashes of dried onion and some sea salt:

I combined all ingredients and placed the sticky dough into a lightly greased 9″x13″ pan. I covered the dough and let it rest at room temperature until it became puffy. I then preheated the oven to 375 degrees (F) while the dough was rising. Gently poking the top of the dough with my finger, I drizzled the oil and seasoning blend over the top.

I baked for 35 minutes until golden brown.

Once it was out of the oven, I let it rest for 5 minutes, then turned onto a cooling rack. We served immediately with butter for maximum awesome.
